Lean mean red & green smoothie

This morning after my usual 2 mile walk, I wanted something light but filling. 

So I thought smoothie! 
Usually I stuff it full of fruit and forget the veggies, but this morning’s slightly tart and delicious smoothie is a chameleon and you’d never know its full of leafy greens.

The key to making this smoothie really smooth is blending for extra time and in a certain order (since greens can make things slightly woody or gritty)

Ingredients:
8oz light cranberry juice
4oz 0% fat, plain greek yogurt
1 c. Strawberries
1.5 c. Kale leaves rough chopped or pulled off the stem
1 c. Baby spinach
1/2 c. Raspberries

Start with the the cranberry juice,  greek yogurt,  and strawberries in the blender. Blend about 2 minutes till really smooth.

While the blender is still going, add the spinach  and kale a few leaves at a time.  Blend another 1 minute after the greens are added.

As the final step add the raspberries and pulse on high till they are blended in.

If you like your smoothie really cold, you could also add some ice in this step.

Put in a cold glass and enjoy!
