So a tradition during berry season back in California, was always to drive to the coast for a weekend or day and berry pick at all the U-Pick farms (since they rarely had the same thing).
However, yesterday the hubs of and I, discovered SmithBerryBarn!
Turns out this place is one of the best U-Pick places I have ever been. They have more varieties of berries in one place than I have ever seen.
It actually reminded me of my Uncle Russel’s farm in Cold Lake, Alberta, Canada.
So we enjoyed the afternoon sun, picking berries, talking about things I remembered as a kid. Red faces, stained pockets, and cousins running around with buckets collecting wild sweet fruit.
Now off to make magical creations with the fruits of our labor!
Colorful! So how’s it going?
I love colorful things. I’m Wonderful, glad it’s Friday!
I grow golden and red rasberries in my garden, alongside blackberries. The trick is to get them before the critters do. They are sooooo yummy!
I feel like they take over everything any time ive tried to grow them. How do you keep them in check?
I’m forever pulling them out of my lawn.
Lol!
I love picking berries!! I remember having a red or blue face!! LOL
I do too! All the time. There are pictures to prove it 🙂 little red stained pockets, from not putting them in my bucket
